In place of my Friday Favorites, today I am going to share a super fun and sweet moment that I had the privilege of being a part of yesterday. Jake contacted me last week telling me that he would be proposing to his girlfriend and wanted a photographer there to document the special moment. Of course I was absolutely ecstatic to photograph this fun time!Jake put so much thought into this proposal which made it possibly one of the sweetest things I have ever witnessed. The proposal took place at The Austonian (where they had their first date), but the adventure started with a late lunch at the restaurant right next door. After being at lunch for about 30 minutes, Jake got up to "go to the restroom" and headed to the Austonian. He had the waiter give Meredith a packet that had directions to where she was supposed to go. When Meredith stepped off the elevator, she was greeted with candles, rose petals, and a canvas of photos that her and Jake took on their first date. When she entered into the room, Jake was sitting in front of the enormous windows that show an absolutely breath-taking view. Jake had so many amazing elements planned. He started by washing Meredith's feet (yes, I cried), and then he led her through some Scripture and prayer. This all led up to the proposal. Jake had the ring hidden in an amazing box with Bible verses written on the outside and inside. Jake got down on one knee, and to everyone's delight, Meredith said yes! Afterwards Jake's roommate, Jimmy, came out and sang a song that Jake had helped write for Meredith. I was absolutely floored by the love and care that was put into this proposal. I am so excited for Jake+Meredith and the wonderful adventures they have ahead of them. Congratulations you two!
