One Year Anniversary | Personal
Last week Will and I celebrated our one year anniversary! To us, it honestly feels like it has only been a few months. It seems like just yesterday we were walking down the aisle. Now, that's not to say that our marriage has been all rainbows and butterflies, but I am so thankful that Will is the man that I get to spend my days with. We decided to do a little "staycation" for our anniversary this year. We absolutely love our city, but we never seem to get the time to just do Austiny things with our busy schedules. We stayed in this cute little garage apartment that a sweet family was renting out. It was close enough to everything downtown that we were able to ride out bikes around town. Will just bought me this cute vintage bike and I had been eager to ride it around. I feel like we spent most of our time eating, so it turns out that riding our bikes everywhere was probably a great idea so we didn't gain a million pounds. My favorite place we went is a cute little french-inspired place we went for breakfast called Walton's. It is owned by Sandra Bullock and has pastries, french toast, and possibly the best oatmeal I have ever had. I think I could live in Walton's with its exposed brick walls, wooden tables and chairs, burlap decorations, and fresh flowers on the tables. So dreamy. Will and I hung out there for a while just chatting and enjoying the atmosphere. For lunch one day, we biked to Whole Foods, grabbed some fruit and stuff for sandwiches and found a good spot to picnic on Town Lake. I even got to use the basket on my bike to carry food. I was pretty excited! Just being able to relax with no distractions, no plans, and just enjoy each other was such a blessing.
I couldn't have asked for a better celebration of our first year of marriage. Enjoying the city that we love and being with each other was perfect.
